This article provides an overview of terms frequently used by Troverlo
Asset – Refers to whatever company resource is being tracked via the Troverlo technology. Each Asset, if assigned, will report back unique data (an observation) specific to its location and environment.
Tag – The Troverlo tracking device attached to or embedded in the company Asset.
Virtual Tag - The Autonomo service that is installed on a Windows device
Asset Categories – Refers to a "label" assigned to an Asset by a company user at creation. Categories help a company to organize Assets that share a common characteristic. List of Asset Categories and Sub-categories.
Asset Groups are "tags" or "labels" in the Troverlo portal and mobile app used to simplify searches for Assets. They are created (ie unique to) by each customer.
Observation – An observation is created by an Observation Endpoint (OE) when a Tag or Virtual Tag are detected. The data is recorded in the Troverlo platform in the cloud with a timestamp and non-PII data that helps the customers to locate their Assets. Observations can be passive or they can be active (purposeful) events.
Observation Endpoint (OE) - this is a client device that creates an observation when it discovers a Troverlo Tag. The observation is based on the location of the OE and the Wi-Fi data of the Troverlo Tag (appearing as a Wi-Fi access point). The observation data can be sent via an HTTPS Post or an MQTT client (Roadmap) to the Troverlo platform. Types of OE
