Reporting - Trace report
Exporting Asset and Observation data for further analysis
Background
Many of the grid-based pages can have the data that is currently on the screen (across pagination) exported to a spreadsheet to allow the user to conduct further analysis.
Steps
- Navigate to Reports -> Trace Report
- Time filters
- Default - starts same day at midnight and runs to current time
- Select a time range
- This will automatically change the "from date and time"
- You can choose from 5 min to 30 days
- To be more granular....Set the "from" date and time and the "to" date and time
- Type in the date -> <two digit day> <2 digit month> <4 digit year> and time -> <2 digit hour>:<2 digit min> <am or pm>,
- Click on the field and a widget will help with the selection of the date and time for the From and To date/time.
- .
- Select Asset (s)
- This has type ahead to find Assets easily.
- This is a multiselect - so pick as many Assets as desired to see in the report.
- LImits
- The longer the duration of time, and the more Assets chosen, the longer it will take to generate this report
- There is a limit of 250,000 rows.
- Click on "Export to Excel"
- Open the file - it will be located in the "downloads' directory configured in the browser.
- The name of the file is "Observations Tracing Report - <date>.xlsx" - for example:
- At the top of the report notice the from time/date entered, to time/date entered and the "Actual from time."
-
- The "Actual from time" shows the oldest (first) observation time/date.
- So if the (250k row ) limit is hit, it will indicate where to start from to gather more data if desired
