Reporting - Trace report

Exporting Asset and Observation data for further analysis

Background

This page enables the user to see observation data over a selected time period for 1 or many Assets.

Steps

  1. Navigate to Reports -> Trace Report
  2. Time filters
    1. Default - starts same day at midnight and runs to current time.
    2. Select a time range
      1. This will automatically change the "from date and time"
      2. You can choose from 5 min to 30 days
    3. To be more granular....Set the "from" date and time and the "to" date and time
      1. Type in the date -> <two digit day> <2 digit month> <4 digit year> and time  -> <2 digit hour>:<2 digit min> <am or pm>,
      2. Click on the field and a widget will help with the selection of the date and time for the From and To date/time.

  3. Selecting Assets can be done via two methods
    1. Drop list
      1. This has type ahead to find Assets easily.
      2. This is a multiselect - so pick as many Assets as desired to see in the report.
    2. Spreadsheeting input 
      1. Click on the iconwhich expands to thisto open the modal where you can select the spreadsheet.
        1. Put the Asset names in the first column, no header is required. All the Asset names found until the first empty row will be attempted.
          1. HINT: Get a list of Asset names by running an export report on the All Assets page.
        2. Select the file.
        3. The screen will provide feedback on what Assets were found, and you can choose if not were found to continue or to update the spreadsheet.
    1. Click on "Export to Excel"
    2. Open the file - it will be located in the "downloads' directory configured in the browser.
      1. The name of the file is "Observations Tracing Report - <date>.xlsx" - for example:

      3. At the top of the report notice the from time/date entered, to time/date entered and the "Actual from time."
      4. The "Actual from time" shows the oldest (first) observation time/date.
      5. So if the (250k row ) limit is hit, it will indicate where to start from to gather more data if desired.
    Limits
    1. There is a limit of 250,000 rows.
    2. If it takes too long or you hit the row limit - reduce the duration of time, and/or number of Assets chosen.
