Reporting - Trace report (Internal)

Exporting Asset and Observation data for further analysis

Background

Many of the grid-based pages can have the data that is currently on the screen (across pagination) exported to a spreadsheet to allow the user to conduct further analysis.

Steps

  1. Navigate to Reports -> Trace Report
  2. Time filters
    1. Default - starts same day at midnight and runs to current time
    2. Select a time range
      1. This will automatically change the "from date and time"
      2. You can choose from 5 min to 30 days
    3. To be more granular....Set the "from" date and time and the "to" date and time
  3. Select Company (ies)
    1. This has type ahead to find a company easily.
    2. This is a multiselect - so pick as many companies as desired to see in the report.
  4. Select Asset (s)
    1. Assets are associated to customers, so only those companies you select will show Assets for selection.
    2. This has type ahead to find Assets easily.
    3. This is a multiselect - so pick as many Assets as desired to see in the report.
  5. Limits
    1. The longer the duration of time, the more companies and the more Assets chosen, the longer it will take to generate this report
    2. There is a limit of 250,000 rows.
  6. Click on "Export to Excel"
  7. Open the file - it will be located in the "downloads' directory configured in the browser.
  8. The name of the file is "Observations Tracing Report - <date>.xlsx" - for example:

  9. At the top of the report notice the from time/date entered, to time/date entered and  the "Actual from time." 
    1. The "Actual from time" shows the oldest (first) observation time/date.
    2. If you hit the (250k row ) limit, it will show a different value in "Actual from time."
